A brief review of the history of Dunapack Paper Division
| 1923 | The Neményi brothers established the predecessor of today´s paper mill on Csepel Island. |
| 1945 | Until 1945 the mill has laid down the foundations of its technology and infrastructure. |
| 1948 | The mill was nationalized. |
| 1962 | The Dunaújváros paper mill began its operation. |
| 1976 | From this year the Dunaújváros corrugated board machine went into operation, as a result of the largest investment project in the history of the Dunaújváros plant. (A semi-wood pulp, corrugated board base paper, corrugated board manufacturing and converting equipments were built with modern technology. Chemical regeneration was expanded and the biological sewage cleaning plant was built.) |
| 1990 | Due to the partial privatization, DUNAPACK Ltd. was established combining the three units of the Paper Industry Enterprise, and until 1995 it has functioned as an Austro-Hungarian joint venture. |
| 1993 | Since 1993 the manufacturing of corrugated paper base, corrugated board and boxes, and production of sacks and bags have taken place in 3 divisions of DUNAPACK Ltd., operating as independent profit-centers. These three divisions are: DUNAPACK Ltd. Paper Division DUNAPACK Ltd. Corrugated Division both in Csepel and Dunaújváros, and DUNAPACK Ltd.Corrugated and Sack Division in Nyíregyháza. |
| 1993 | From this year the Dunaújváros pulp mill and the fine paper plant operated under the name of Dunaújváros Fine Paper Plant. Since 1997, following the sale of the fine paper plant, Dunaújváros Pulp Mill Ltd. has been run independently. |
| 1994 | DUNAPACK Ltd. founded Duparec Recycling Ltd. (hereafter: Duparec Ltd.) on the premises of the Csepel unit. Duparec Ltd. presently operates as a subsidiary company, with a majority shareholding of DUNAPACK Ltd. |
| 1995 | In 1995 the Austrian Prinzhorn group, with its head office in Pitten, gained full ownership in the company. |
