Raw Materials and Recycling The main raw material for paper production is fibre, which can be acquired from two main sources: trees (and other plants) or waste paper. The latter is more important in production of packaging papers. Production, collection and processing of waste paper create a cycle, as shown in the diagram. In such a system, the quantity of the primary raw materials used for packaging paper production is significantly reduced (one fifth to one tenth of the original quantity). ![]() Dunapack´s paper mills manufacture their products practically entirely from secondary raw materials, i. e. from recovered papers. This means, that apart from saving natural resources, we serve society well by recycling the large volumes of waste being generated. The diagrammes on the right clearly demonstrate Dunapack´s increasing use of domestic recovered paper for the production of valuable paper. |
Utilisation of recovered paper Being by far the biggest utiliser of waste paper in Hungary, Dunapack significantly contributes to the fulfilment of Hungary´s waste recycling obligations determined by an EU-Directive. Collection of recovered paper by Duparec Ltd. In order to participate in the collection of waste paper more effectively, Dunapack established a subsidiary named Duparec Ltd. in 1994. Through this company we have increased the collection of recovered paper in Hungary as follows: |
